Hi

I want some new wheels and after an hour on Google I'm none the wiser. Spec list as follows:

Road use only and I'm a puny 70kg
Discs, pref Shimano Centrelock
Tubeless ready and fit 32mm tyres
142*12 compatible on the rear, 12 on the front
Pref under £400

Choices are a set of JRA light MAP wheels (don't want Hunt) for £390 or a custom build, I have a mate who's a skilled wheel builder who owes me a favour

This is where it's complicated.........

CRC are selling DT Swiss at good prices but are out of 12H front hubs, Hope are bombproof but noisy, etc, etc, etc

Help, please!

Plenty of choice at that price point. I do like JRA wheels but would probably go with hand built wheels from the likes of DCR or Spokesman.

I stumbled across a new outfit in similar vein to Hunt called Scribe. They have some nice wheels with the sort of spec I’m after (high spoke count, CX rays) for under £400.

Second hand set of Mavic Cosmics would do a nice job.

If I had a mate who was a wheel builder I’d be chatting with him. He’ll know what he can get his hands on right now and what’ll suit your needs.

Thanks all

Wheel building mate is excellent however does it in his spare time as a hobby so only has access to the same stuff as me which is difficult to currently source

Scribe are a good shout

More googling required

Cheers
