Lady Balfour is skinny and feels the cold. She came back from a ride frozen yesterday and threatened to give up cycling for the winter. It may have been 12 degrees...

She has thermal layers, but I am wondering whether she needs heated gear, particularly gloves.

She has a Blazewear coat that she wears when she watches sport.

So, is there a go-to brand for this sort of stuff? She needs XS sized apparel.

Many thanks.

Bookmarked... looking for some heated gloves for MiL who has incredibly bad circulation in her hands after years of chemo messing up the blood vessels in her arms. Can only find stuff in large or extra large.

Interesting.
I suffer from bad circulation I think. Hands and feet go dead at anything less than summer temps.

Watching with interest. I’m off out in half an hour and I’ve dug out my winter gear. My feet will still be numb, an hour in.

Have you tried the northwave winter boots with those hand warmer pads inside?!

I'm not sure what's available for cycling specifically, being fairly new to it. I have a climbing / mountaineering background. You could do worse than look at Outdoor Research gloves. Plenty of heated options.

Interesting idea. How do you power them? 12v at 15A is a lot to lug about on a bicycle, unless I am missing something.

It might be worth getting hold of some silk glove inserts. Although I don't suffer from the cold I do work outside on aircraft hangars and other exposed areas where the wind chill can really make you cold.
I bought silk vests and glove inserts plus Goretex lined boots and have never had a problem.
I've just bought an e-mtb and intend to use these when it gets cold.

You won't power those from USB!

This may or may not be suitable for you but there is a range of heated clothing for the motorcycle market which could be of some use?

Keis make heated gilets.
Five also make a range of heated gloves which have built in battery packs too.

Lady Balfour has a heated coat that runs off one of them via USB.

I have Reynaud's and struggle with my feet when the temps go below mid teens. I have been using these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B075ZTCR2K/ref... conjunction with either Nothwave Artic boots or neoprene overshoes.

Thanks for this link - I've just ordered some via https://www.theheatcompany.com/ (10 pairs of insoles and 15 pairs of toe warmers) as I also suffer from very cold feet / toes - just need them to arrive before the weekend now!

There are also similar for hands which are nice:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Hands-Instant-Hand-Warmer... could get quite expensive though if you're out 5 times a week!

Lady B uses little hotties, which are the same sort of thing.

Not ideal in cycling gloves though.

I used those today in windproof gloves, worked ok at the palm of my hand but not sure what gloves I have. The seal skinz i had were annoying with an inner lining.
