I've new tyres - Nobbie Nics and Magic Mary's.
I can not for the life of me get the bds on the rims without pinching the tubes. New tubes are like a patchwork quilt now !
Yes, I know tubelss is the future, but I'm not set up for that yet - hopefully gettiing done a the weekend, but in the meantime - I am in a constant fight with punctured inner tubes from niping the tubes during fitting.

Even managed to snap two tyre levers fighting the new beads on....

What is going on, and what are the hacks?

Are you partially inflating the innertube?
Helps keep it in place.
Must admit I've never had problems fitting tyres with only my hands, but then I'm on my first new (27.5") bike in twenty years...

a little air in the tubes yes - and over the last 6 months I've change countless tyres / tubes - but these are soooooo damn tight on the rims and then trying to not nip the tube is proving impossible.

I am seat the bead in the middle, adding a little lube to the rim, but this is insane the failiure rate I am having.....

Go tubeless? Would solve the pinch punctures at least

I had this with my new Michelin e wilds, what I did in the end was scrap the levers and lay the wheel flat, then with a hands on the tyre at 10-2 just force and roll the sidewall over the rim.

Took abit of doing but stretched and popped over first time.

Good luck

I had the same problem, a bit of washing up liquid on the bead, and watch this https://youtu.be/jvvXrlAUUfU

I gave up and left it for a while but eventually managed it!

I'll learn to read one day!

On a more helpful solution, have you tried putting the tube into the tyre before it goes onto the rim?

Also put one side on first, and make sure it's in the middle of the rim not at the edge as you try and lever the second bead onto the rim - makes it a bit easier

They key thing I find is working your way all around the tyre with your thumbs, freeing it up from where it is sticking on the rim and working both sides into the middle of the rim. Moving all the slack to one place.

A bit of air in the tube helps as well.
