Evan's Cycles not offering Click and Collect
Discussion
Anybody know why Evan's have now stopped offering Click and Collect?
First they want to charge £5 per order for the privilege and now they aren't even doing C&C.
Have they decided it's not worth providing this option financially or do they only want to concentrate on mail order? Seems an odd thing to do especially with so many purchases going through the internet in some way these days.

Only use Evans as a last resort! The less money in their pockets the better. Worse cycle retailer around - inflated prices and virtually never hold any stock. Staff with no knowledge of bikes.
Sorry I didn't answer your question did I...
Part of the Mike Ashley empire now isn't it?Sorry I didn't answer your question did I...

Basically try to do this myself, support lbs generally and wiggle always 10x better for stock/price. Skill / enthusiasm varies massively though and the mechanics at Evans near my office (London Mortimer St) have been great for urgent commuter fixes, and completly lacking the common bike shop condescension.Definitely wondered who is wandering in there to buy top end race bikes (and some very sexy Litespeed Ti stock costing £££) considering competition in the capital though

So you don't spend money with them but do you them in an emergency? So who will you use when they close their shops down?

I don't have an issue with the business models or owners atall. Started buying bike stuff there and Halfords like many.
Getting more into road riding found advice and service tended to be better at smaller/focused shops. Totally unsurprising. Take a Porsche to the local Halfords that mostly services runabouts and it'll probably not be great.
Bike shops definitely need support and I try to buy stuff from them expecting higher prices than online. In an expensive hobby have to balance that though, and yeah it feels better to support the local than Mike Ashley
