Two weeks on a bike and I think it is safe to say I'm really enjoying it.

So I'm bike shopping, initially for a Gravel/CX bike as I'm probably 50/50 road/trail at the moment and my 15 year old Subway 2 isn't great for either.

I've set myself a limit of £1k although I would like to come in under and have been looking at the new Boardman adv 8.9 ( not that they are in stock ) and various bikes on ebay.
I just wondered if anyone had anything good or bad to say about the Boardman, if there was something in that price range that is going to be a better buy and then where else apart from Ebay to go second hand?

Thanks very much.

Try Facebook cycling buy/sell groups too, although there are quite a few, and some regional ones which people post in from all over the country (it's a bit of a mess).

I have a Boardman ADV8.9 through C2W.

I'm very happy with it. Came from a Carrera TDF so no high expectations. I've used it on road for 50 miles, hilly forestry gravel roads, rocky tracks and unpaved cycle paths. Taken it all in its stride.

Orange colour is a bit bright for some, but fine for me. It's not a lightweight bike by any means, but I wanted something sturdier than a road bike for mixed terrain and for touring with panniers.

Starting to look at my first set of replacement tyres on it.
