What size wheel?

Ultimately your choice of folding bike will be determined by what you want to do with it - how small you need to to fold, where you can store it, length of commute etc etc.

They're both EXTREMELY popular in Hong Kong. Thousands of them. Often with radios, sat navs, aerobars etc affixed.

Tern do carbon wheels and all sorts.

I used to have a Dahon, it was written off when someone drove in to me. It has been replaced by a second hand Brompton.

The folding mecanism on the Dahon was a cinch compared to the Brompton but quality definitely poorer.

20 inch one, with a shimano nexus hub. Bigger wheels than a brompton. Probably a bit larger folded. Does the job, happy enough with it, and it's been going forever. It just works factor is high.
I'm sure a brompton is 'better', but I can't really see it's that much money better. But I also have other bikes and the dahon is a tool for a job.

Tern A7 owner here. Only used it once since I bought it last year, for a Porsche dealer to station- station to customer London- Train - home trip.
Mine is 20" wheels & is pretty big even when folded. Another pain is that it doesn't fit into an MX5 boot which is annoying. It rides very well. Mine is 6 speed (I think).
