After saving a fortune on petrol the last few months and getting some money back after a Remortgage I've been "allowed" to buy a new bike biggrin

Want to do some CX racing (at some point, BC have hinted that it might be possible this year, fingers crossed) and my dad has ordered a gravel bike so would be good to be able to accompany him on gravel rides. So priority is a true CX bike I can race, not fussed about pannier mounts etc.

Options that I've seen so far:

Canyon Inflite CF SL6- carbon frame, SRAM Rival, DT Swiss 1850 wheels. Like the look of the kinked top tube although I know its very marmite! Nice blue colour.

Ribble CX SL- carbon frame, either SRAM Rival or Shimano GRX, Mavic Allroad wheels. for my budget I'd also get carbon bars and seatpost. Boring grey though. Frame has threaded bottom bracket which is a plus. Slightly more tyre clearance than the Canyon.

Any other suggestions? Not really interested in the Cannondale CAADx, already have a Cannondale road bike and want something different. I'd prefer a Shimano groupset TBH as I'm used to how the shifters work. Don't want to go lower than Rival/105/GRx600 level spec. Ideally carbon frame, hydro discs are a must.

Any experiences of ordering from Ribble? Their Bluewater showroom is 15 mins away although don't know if they deal with issues there or are just sales people.

Handy with spanners? Might be worth looking second hand. I picked up a Specialized Crux Expert with Roval C38s and Dzero PM for £2,500 (so within budget without the PM).

Yea second hand is an option and I do like the colour schemes on the Crux. But what puts me off is that top-end CX bikes have likely been raced in the mud and had a relatively hard life- there's also the faff of finding one the right size (I need a 58/xl) that's not hundreds of miles away. Have had a look through the CX sales pages on facebook but not seen much.
