Hi all, so I bought a specialized just prior to lock down and I was advised (on here) the group set was poor, you were all correct, it feels cheap at best, the bike is the men’s elite carbon hybrid, I’ve listed the group set and I’m after suggestions to improve it, is it worth improving the bike I’ve bought?
Thanks
Andy

No, not really if you ask me. Any upgrades post original build will be very expensive for not much benefit...just ride as is. At the end of the day it's a hybrid bike, what's on it is fine for the job, if you want to go faster you're better off putting the money towards a better machine with whatever discipline you have in mind (road, gravel or mountain). You've got a bike there with 11 speed 105 gearing and hydraulic discs, it's perfectly good on a hybrid!

^^& This 100% to upgrade will be expensive with flat bar shifters etc.

Nothing wrong with the 105 mechs. You could replace the shifters for the SL-RS700 105 flat bar shifters which would probably help the "feel" quite a lot. Not cheap though at around £100. I'd wait for things to wear out/ break before I upgraded anything.

It’s not a great spec. Spesh have thrown a nice rear mech on in the hope that the Customer will think of the bike subliminally as a 105 equipped bike when in reality it’s a long way below that. The bike itself looks nice and may be worth some upgrading as parts wear out but usually it’s far more cost effective to buy the right bike from the get go as if you don’t enjoy it you’ll not ride it enough to wear out the parts you’d want to change.
