Hi all.

There seems to be quite a range in how tyre/wheel sizes are designated.

Essentially, I have a road bike with 700c x 25 tyres on. I'm looking at converting the bike to electric assisted, and the conversion kit comes with a 28" wheel with a motor hub.

Would this be compatible with my bike? (Btwin 500)
From looking online, some sites seem to say yes and others no. A little lost if I'm honest.

Cautious on ordering the kit and it arriving and the 28" wheel doesn't fit for whatever reason.

Thanks

Assuming you are only questioning wheel diameter and not wheel or tyre width:

Yes a 28" wheel will be will be the same diameter as a 700c wheel.
It will also be the same diameter as a 29" wheel.
It will also be the same diameter as a 622mm wheel.
The 28" diameter wheel will be smaller than a 27" wheel.
The 28" diameter wheel will be bigger than a 27.5" wheel.

Yep, I think that should make it clearer!

Can I ask where you got the conversion kit? Thinking of getting my parents a hybrid bike but they both have decent bikes already. If there was a kit that might save some hassle

If the OP doesn't come back, have a look at www.cytronex.com
Cost about a grand all in.

Thanks for the replies.

With my conversion kit, I bought a Yosepower 350w rear hub motor kit.

They're ~£390 from their website and ship from Germany, but I found someone on Gumtree selling a brand new one locally for £350.

Great piece of kit, especially when you consider the price.
