I got my new Pinnacle Neon 5 and I sort of like it although it will take a bit of adjusting I think. I love the look of it in its discrete carbon look and I like the solid and satisfying gear changes and powerful brakes.

Thing is although I am only 5'7 the medium feels maybe a shade too small although that could be the fact that the riding position is not what I am used to as the handlebars feel very low.

So I am considering riser bars instead of the ones that are fitted which seem to droop. Is this an easy upgrade to make?

yes, everything should be able to remove with Allen keys. Only issue is grips, I've had to cut them off before, those rubber ones. If you are fitting a carbon worth getting a torque wrench and carbon paste.

Yes, I was wondering about swapping over the components and grips. To be honest I think I need to buy another tool set first as I tried to adjust the seat position earlier and despite having a 7 inch allen key i could not loosen it at all. It looks as though threads have been coated in a blue substance so I will need something heavy duty to unlock them.

Also, can the bar that is already fitted be adjusted? I am thinking maybe it has just been fitted wrong could i adjust it so it rises instead of droops?

Sorry if these seem stupid questions I know nothing about setting them up or adjusting them.

you can adjust the bar, move in, but a straight bar not much to move that is why you get a riser. You can adjust it. It adjust, there are 4 nuts on front , just loosen. The blue stuff will be lock tight, just use allen key and hollow tube to extend force.

Depends how much you want to raise it.

My was just to fraction too low so turned the stem the other way up and that gave me enough of a raise.

Might be that stem is too long? or you're having to over reach.

I put a riser on my old bike and it allowed me to gradually drop it down over time - I worked well and gave me a couple of inches extra height. I think it does affect the handling a bit though.

If the bars droop won’t they turn up the other way.
On full lock do theY hit the cross bar
Lots you can do To make minor adjustments before replacing parts

Just looked on Evans page and it says 10 degrees back sweep but I don’t see how the sweep

Very easy to do with a couple of allen keys. If your grips aren't lock on (Small allen key on a metal band at the end of the grip) then a small screwdriver to lift the edge of the grip up and spray hairspray under it. A few copius twists will eventually see the grip come off. To put it back on, spray hairspray into the grip which will act as a lubricant. Push it back on and the hairspray will dry locking the grip in place smile
Tried and tested method!

Hairspray is tried and tested, if not available then boiling water is another old school way.

I have adjusted the seat a little bit and tilted the bar and it feels a bit better now, I did look at seeing if there was room to put a spacer to lift the handlebar but i think the stem is right at the top so no room to do that it seems.
