For reasons of poor decision making I have a bike that is too big for me. It was bought in a rush on a C2W scheme 2 years ago. It’s been in the shed since and only ridden a handful of times.

I’d like to start riding more regularly again, but this bike is too big and uncomfortable.

So I’d like to swap the frame. I could by another bike but where is the fun in that. I’d rather enjoy the process of swapping over the components.

Annoyingly I missed out on winning a medium version of the same frame on eBay recently.

This is the bike I have. https://www.evanscycles.com/scott-aspect-700-2016-...

I have tried looking for a new frame, but quite frankly I’ve no idea what is compatible with the components I already have.

Can any of you point me in the direction of a frame that would be suitable. Preferably one that isn’t crazy money.

Cheers

The look interesting thanks.

Budget is as little as possible. I'll get my arse kicked by the Mrs. for spending any more money at the minute.

I certainly don't want to have to buy any components other than the frame. Then I'll ebay the current one.

Looks like a strait steerer and qr hubs??

So forks should fit most frames with correct headset

Cannot find a reasonably cheap medium frame for 27.5" wheels anywhere. Even some of the Chinese ones are all out of stock.

Tempted to just order one of these and hope for the best wobble

Planet x have a couple of options for £300

Merlin have a carbon frame for £350

What's your budget?

Budget is as little as possible. I'll be in for a world of pain for buying a bike frame anyway. So the pain will be significantly reduced if it doesn't cost too much 'when' I sell the current frame. Obviously there will be man maths involved.

I won't buy from Planet X after issues with a bike I had from them years ago.

The Pro race frames look OK. But there is very little info on them. I'll ask Merlin if they have any.

I think at this price range I'll just take a punt on an unbranded Chinese one. Chances are the cheaper carbon frames from known manufacturers are the same anyway.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained as they say.
