Had my Kickr Core just over a year done 30 hours on it..... I know not much.

Jumped on it last night. Connected to the Android app and Apple TV but no power or cadence etc.

Updated the software as there's been an update in the past month. But still nothing??

So clearly Bluetooth is working but is it the Ant+ bit??

Wahoo website is useless and my not so local bike shop said bring it in and we'll look at it.

Anyone had similar issues. Is there a factory reset I can apply to the actual device before feeling 40 miles to the bike shop??

I can't help specifically with experience of a Core 18, but the same thing happened to me with my original version Kickr...I hadn't used it for two years (health issues), and when I used it for the first time last week, no power showed

I checked the Wahoo site , which suggested downloading the Wahoo Utility app - this allowed a factory spin down(basically, two in quick succession) which cured my issue immediately.

The wahoo site suggested I would have to tap the wahoo icon on the app 10 times to access the factory spindown option, but it actually asked me if I wanted to action one as soon as it detected the device.

Hopefully someone will be able to advise if the same process works for the Core 18 - if not, give the utility app a go.

I've read that there is a white sticker on the inside of the spinning part that a sensor uses to measure rotation. If that comes off you loose power and speed.

Or it could be the ESD issue:

Cheers guys. I'll give it a go. I had performed a spin down last use as it's always nice to calibrate.

Called again the bike shop and it's 13 months old. Going to push for a new device with Wahoo as it shouldn't be dead in such a short period of time

No joy!

factory spin down = nothing
Factory reset back and then forth = nothing

I can't see it being ESD as I'm on concrete but it maybe the sensor has fallen off? I don't know why as it doesn't move in the garage as my equipment is all one end with the TV etc???

You should be able to see the tape without dismantling:

This is the Core equivalent of the link I followed:

https://support.wahoofitness.com/hc/en-us/categori...

If the factory spin down hadn't have worked for me, the next step would have been to raise a support ticket with them. Anecdotally, I'd heard that they have been pretty good when there were genuine issues with the power readings - might be worth raising a ticket on the support site before travelling to the retailer.

I hope you get it fixed....I love my Kickr, but I was calling it all names under the sun when I thought it had conked out on me.

So 2 months later I've raised a ticket..... Life or my life choices meant I haven't thought about training or riding for that matter..

Will see what happens and update the thread. I bought the unit in early April 2019. But with the use time so low I'm hoping Wahoo are willing to accommodate.

Bloody expensive 30 hours if not!

Kickrs have a two year warranty - so you're good as long as you have proof of purchase.

While their products haven't been the height of reliability - the customer service is excellent - am sure they'll sort you out.
