Currently looking to change my shoes which are a pair of Northwave Core Plus.

I've always had an issue with my little toe going numb after about the 20 mile mark, I've adjusted cleat position and saddle position to try and prevent this but nothing seemed to work, so I just persevered.

Now my shoes are getting a bit tatty I thought I'd upgrade, looking at Northwave Revolution 2s as I like the BOA fastening the shoes have.

I was looking to go up half a size to a UK8, hopefully to prevent the little toe pinching and going numb, however they seem to be European sizing meaning they come in either a UK7.5 (what i have) or UK 8.5 which is a whole shoe size up.

I presume this would now be too big? Can't seem to find any in a size 41.5.

I have two pairs of NW shoes (MTB + Road)

I'm a size 11 (45) feet, but both pairs of NW shoes are 47 to get a good fit.

Have you looked at the sidi mega range?

sidi said:
The Mega range has 4mm of extra width across the ball of the foot which translates to an EE-EEE width (wide/extra wide). The heel cup is also wider and there's a higher instep.

I wouldn't say my feet are particularly wide, but I'll have a look. Thanks for the help 👍🏼

I always buy Sidis a full size bigger as they are a tad narrow and I have chubby feet. So, I am a 45 and Sidis are a 46. They fit me well and are not mega sized.

I tried Northwave and they came up quite narrow.

When I went for a bike fit the first thing my fitter said was my shoes (Specialized) were too narrow.

He took the inner sole out and made me stand on it and showed me how my little toe was off the edge.

I was told to try Lake or Shimano. I ended up with Shimano which are so much wider and more comfortable.

The following article is interesting.

I would certainly shop around, plenty of choice out there.

Similar story to above, my first ever pair were Shimano. Swapped to Specialized next time round as I liked the look of them; wow. I was in agony within about 3 miles. Rode home and ordered a new set of Shimano. Obviously I have a Shimano style foot!

Have a look at Lake shoes. I usually struggle with the normal brands which all seem narrow. Lake are great and do wide (which I bought) and extra wide IIRC.
