Will a 68x117 BB replace a 68x118 BB?

Ive just ordered a 68x117 square tapered spindle to replace the worn out one on my wifes bike.

Its to replace a 68x118. Will the '1mm' make any significant difference?

Not significantly, it's only half a mil each side.

And although I think 117 is the norm as opposed to 118 I think the actual standard is 117.5. So no I don’t think it’ll make much, if any difference.

Should work out fine, just a slight tweek of the front mech 'might' be needed, if the bike has one.
