Tyre size replacement

Hi noticed my rear tyre has a split in it (see picture). The current size is 700x38c however tyres in this size seem quite expensive and less common. I can get schwalbe land cruiser in size 700x35 or 700x40 for £12 each. I take it the small difference in width would not cause any issues if swapped for one of these? I generally cycle on roads or paths such as canal towpaths etc upto say 20 mile max with my son on the back so puncture protection most important aspect rather than speed etc.
