Has anybody seen this charge? Is it new? I'm ordering a chain, happy to pick up in store but theres a £4.99 charge for both delivery and click and collect!

I like the idea of using the shops but where's the incentive if I'm having to pay to pick it up myself?

Yes. It's bizarre. Both standard delivery and Click and Collect have £4.99 against them.

sports direct do the same thing, it costs just as much to click & collect as it does to have it delivered. it makes no sense. they try to incentivise it by giivng you a £5 store voucher too..

And it's interesting who owns both Sports Direct and Evans...

One less reason to support bricks and mortar.

I really want to use the shops though. Much better to get the part I want and pick it up in store. No point going into the shop as they probably won't stock the part I need.

Bike parts aren't really the same as buying one style of Lonsdale jumper instead of another because it's not in stock.

Yes, that's where I first saw it. Out of boredom I've paid it too.

Did you sign up for the ''£5 OFF YOUR FIRST PURCHASE OVER £30''?

I'm surprised you still paid though.

I did use the £5 voucher even though I'm a long term Evans customer. So overall I didn't really lose out.

it is a con really but considering limited stock, not much you can do. Worth an email to complain might refund you.

I didnt get the impression the £5 charge was only for those using the £5 voucher. The charge was still there after I'd paid. Might just be a con though as suggested.

Chance of me paying £4.99 to click and collect = NIL

If I wanted a standard chain and Evans doesn't have one in at my local store as part of 'business as usual' stock then why do I want to pay to trail all the way down there to collect one that I could have through the letterbox the next day from almost any online seller?

If they want to add £5 to every order theres more incentive to use the smaller independent shops. They used to be more expensive but all of a sudden they aren't.

I would just order online frrom somewhere else and use one of the collect services to pick it up from a local corner shop/off license/post office.
