Upgrading my bike, help.

Have recently bought a second hand felt ar5, really like it and have found a comfy setup so will likely keep it as the frame is in good condition. It is my first proper road bike however have cycled on the turbo and road for 8months now.
The bike has a FSA crankset, the rest of the groupset is shim 105. So I am contemplating changing the crankset and bottom bracket to 105 and while I am at it also getting a new cassette as the current one is 5 y/o and worn. I can get all the bits for about £170 and I will pay someone to fit and service the bike.
It has a new chain already so that wont need changing.
Am I doing the right thing? Is there better components available for similar money?
