So if you up to £750ish to spend on a road bike (new). Where would your money go & why? Will probably do 20-50 miles 2/3 times a week.

Decathlon Triban RC520

It’s got Shimano 105 gear, reasonable everything else.

I ended up with a RC500 and attended launch day in London. It’s a cracking tool and very pleasant to ride. Not as spriteley as my Sunday best by any means but for casual stuff you won’t go wrong.

The 520 is the one above mine though I’ve kinda made mine a bit better over time with bits from the garage and parts from a crashed bike.

You won’t regret it
