New helmet attach disc style helmet torch

Looking for a new helmet, however with lockdown etc., I can’t go check things out, so I have a questions before ordering online.
Looking at MIPs type.
Seen Bontrager starvos, girl foray/cinder etc.
Main question is, I have a helmet torch where the mount attaches with a disc (3/4cm diameter, under the helmet with another on top that screw in (i.e. clamping the mount in place).
All OK on a non-MIPs helmet but can I simply have the disc the same on a mips helmet, i.e. disc sits inside the helmet but above the mips so not affecting the mips?

Can’t comment on the helmet, but does make you think why have something with effectively a large screw placed next to your skull .....(somewhat negating the helmet) surely a Velcro strap/GoPro style adhesive pad would be a safer arrangement. Appreciate this may mean changing light however.

The mount is all plastic (no metal), but I see your torch is a good one (Exposure Diablo) so not replacing that! But maybe a strap mount I can get with those rubber loops may work.

Only mips I have is in my ski helmet. If going down Velcro route, I’d loop it/route it - leaving the mips untethered.

Exposure still sell the mount and says fits most/all helmets so took that as fitting mips types too.
Got a Giro Foray mips and all fits perfectly, esp the vent at the top where the mount goes. Many have to have torch either further back or forward than one wants, even with mount tilt so result all in all.
To fit, just slide mount behind/under mips and screw in, doesn’t touch/affect the mips at all.
