I'm not keen to keep my nice mountain bike in my flimsy garden shed and I'd rather not spend >£500 on one of these metal locking box things, which also advertises the fact there's a bike inside.

Currently my bike sits in my study but with the wide bars it's really in the way. Unfortunately I don't have a cupboard big enough to hold it, even hanging up.

It will get cleaned thoroughly before it goes away.

Looking for in-room some storage inspiration...

I have a few of these screwed into the wall:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/VonHaus-Vertical-Mount-Cy...

You can get them cheaper if you shop around, they are all basically the same.

My MTB has some pretty deep/chunky wheels and it just about fits. My road bike hangs fine but a deep section aero rim probably won't fit.

edit: The wall fixings it comes with are obviously junk - use your own.

I bought some of these from Planet X at £1.99 each. Just looked and they've sold out! £20 is a bit rich.

Feedback Sports Velo Hinge

Basically the hooks but the bikes fold flat against the wall, well as wide as the bars allow. For mountain bikes i just loosen the stem a smidge if they need to go flat

Another one to consider is a SteadyRack, I've got a number of them for the bikes in my cabin. The bikes can swivel so if you find the bike is in the way you can move it without having to take the bike off the rack.

I have a couple of bikes on a Topeak floor to ceiling stand:

Keeps them out of the way away from being knocked over etc. Having had a quick google there are cheaper alternatives available now, but no idea of quality. The Topeak one is really sturdy and well made
