Garmin 530 experience
Discussion
I need to ditch my 3 year old Wahoo Bolt which is rapidly becoming a time consuming paperweight!
Garmin 530 is the obvious successor - similar form factor but far more capable all round. Plenty of reviews comment on it's features and strengths but what I'd value is comments from a longer-term user experience. I know the 520/820 series had issues with some users receiving multiple dysfunctional devices but I'd rather thought the 530/830's have proved more robust in practice and given they'be been on sale for a year now I'd hope any hardware problems have been fixed. What drives me up the wall on Wahoo is the regular 'updates' that seem only to introduce new bugs. Why they have to keep tampering and can't just settle on a stable configuration is a mystery to me!

I ditched my temperamental 1000 for a 530 and it’s been great except for one ride when it froze. After the crap touchscreen on the 1000 I went for a non touchscreen version, it’s a bit of a pain and takes a while to configure the screens you want. The battery life is great and would easily last all day. It uploads my rides straight away to Strava and can send routes to it from my phone so I’m happy with it.Garmin 530 is the obvious successor - similar form factor but far more capable all round. I was looking for at the same model today, Looks perfect for what I need, haven't had a comp since the Garmin 800 model - quite a few years back!
If you're keen to buy, I have a pretty decent discount through work so if you want to buy, drop me a message and maybe we can sort getting 2?
Nothing in it for me other than it's cool to share sometimes...
It's a one time code so I'll hang fire till tomorrow...
cheers
