I'm doing the typical trying-to-buy-a-bike-during-lockdown thing as my MTB just isn't cutting it for the sort of riding I'm wanting to do. I'm constrained by the cycle to work scheme, so then limited to buying from Evans. I'm 6'5" so probably looking at a 61cm frame.

I'm looking at Road and around 600-900 budget. Not racing but looking more for just comfortable riding and building up the miles.

So far, I'm looking at the Allez and Synapse, both in Sora spec. On both sides they look great, but I'm a little concerned by the 'raciness' of the Allez, and the brakes on the Synapse being cable disc.

Given I'm ordering online and can't sit on either (but can return them post lockdown), does anyone have preferences in either direction?

Check with the Synapse, it may have mis-matched quick release rear wheel, versus thu axle front.

Would be a pain for replacements in the future.

I think the current Allez geometry was updated to be a bit more endurance focused when it was first released a couple of years ago.
