Evening,

I’m looking to replace My trusty specialized Pitch and I’m wondering what the best replacement bike is in the £300-400 price range? I use it for evening and weekend rides on the road and very light trails so a hybrid or hard tail with front suspension is more than adequate.
I’m probably doing 500 miles over the summer and the odd winter ride but that’s it.
I don’t want to spend more than this as it’s just a means of getting out and about, nothing more. I’ll get it serviced yearly and give it a clean regularly.
Also, I’m 6’5” so I’ll be looking for a large framed bike!
Recommendations on bikes or where to look would be appreciated.

As above, for a new bike in that price range I'd be looking at Decathlon and Go Outdoors

Calibre have a couple of new hard tails coming out and have revealed the Cutter model on their FB page. Looks good for under £350.

The Go Outdoors own brand Calibre Two Cubed won MBRs sub £375 hardtail test. I came across this test when looking for bikes for my nephews, but they’ve sold out unfortunately.

Calibre Two Cubed, £350.00

Rating: 10/10

Read the full review of the Calibre Two Cubed

At £350 the Two Cubed is unbeatable, it has the best sizing and geometry of any bike here, and comes in three usable sizes so most riders should be able to get the right fit. The bike encourages you to push your luck on the trails, ride faster and have more fun, knowing the Two Cubed has the geometry, suspension and components to back you up.

This bike looks like a more expensive bike too, and there lies the rub — it actually is.

Calibre has discounted it for its launch and is currently holding the price down for about a week extra to let mbr readers snap up the deal. If you want it, don’t wait, get it now before it goes up n price.

I really like the look of that Calibre 'Cutter' bike and i'll have a look for one of those Calibre Cube's too. Cheers for everyone's input.
