One of the kid's is learning to ride, she's fantastic on her balance bike but processing to the peddles is a challenge.

As well as being a bit small, the damn coaster brake on her Specialised just seems like a completely stupid idea, making it harder to get the peddles in the go position and causing a panic when accidentally peddling the wrong way.

Can it be dismantled and safely binned?

Best way to go is to get a cheap rear wheel with a normal thread for a free wheel.

At some point you may want to put the coaster brake back on, and also taking it apart vi's a nightmare.

Have got something for you, it was going to the great bicycle storage shed in the sky, but you can give it a go. It is plain rear wheel drive and did us proud for learning.

If no use, then up/down/recycle it on

I'll drop it off when I'm next out'n'about
