Noisy drivetrain in the big chain ring
Discussion
Hello all,
Just looking for some thoughts and suggestions.
I have noticed that I get a lot more noise from the drivetrain in the big ring compared to the small ring, regardless of which cog is selected at the back ( although it seems noisiest in the cogs towards the smaller end, although weirdly not the smallest two cogs) Firstly is this just normal and the way these things are? Gear changes are fine front and rear, and the chain doesn't come off, its just noisy.
I have watched various YouTube videos but none seems to address this specifically, although I am going to have a play at indexing the front derailleur.
The bike is new, I have done around 10 rides, and is a decent spec gravel bike (Shimano GRX400 bits) I should add, I am not mechanically minded, so any disassembly etc will have to be done by a bike shop once all the lockdown stuff is over.
Look forward to any suggestions.
