Needs to be 30miles max and some hills thrown in.

Riding towards Dunelm Massey and Knutsford is flat as a pancake sadly.

Needs to be 30miles as I need to get back and my head down for my nightshift.

Not sure whereabouts in South Manchester, but possibly able to get towards Lyme Park, Disley in 30 miles? Living between Middlewich and Winsford I can report it is quite hilly on the Sandstone Trail ridge around Delamere Forest, Kelsall, Frodsham but maybe a little far out from South Manchester, as is Macclesfield, Bollington perhaps? There's always the hills out of Alderley Edge towards Macclesfield also and even the the cobbled climb of Swiss Hill in Alderley Edge (think some from Team Sky used it once as prep for Flanders!)

Slim pickings without venturing into the Peaks. There’s a decent drag out of Alderley Edge up towards The Wizard pub. Artists Lane is another way to the top of the same ridge. Swiss Hill not far from either if you fancy a 20% cobbled climb.

Not much lumpy stuff in that area until you hit the edge of the peaks(Pott Shrigley). Wizards Hill in Alderley Edge is the most noticable lump in the area and you can come at it from 3 ways IIRC.

Where do your rides start from?

EDIT: Replied without see in Andys post above mine which says exactly the same. So at least you now have confirmation of your options smile

Echoing the above.

Bramhall, Poynton, Pott Shrigley (via Park Lane, Coppice Road, Shrigley road), then Blakestone road, B5470 towards Kettleshume, right turn onto Side end lane up to Pym's chair/car park, turn left down embridge causeway carry on all the way derbyshire bridge car park, up onto the A537 cat and fiddle, left after peak view tea rooms onto the Ankers lane (i think) and then back up to the A537 across the A537 onto Ankers Knowl Lane which turns into Hooleyhey lane (be careful of the downward gradient.. it's hairy!), left onto erwin lane, right onto pike road, down blaze hill, right onto spauley lane, back to shrigley road.

You can add some additional flat distance through bollington, addlington, to handforth, wilmslow.

Additionally, if you want more hills on the embridge causeway cross it and head towards Buxton and out that way. Or at the derbyshire peak car park cross the A537 towards the A53 and head out towards Longnor.

You will never want to see a hill for a couple of weeks.
