What hardtail £1200-£1500

What sort of riding do you want it for? trail, XC racing, or bit more enduro-ey?
I'd be looking at something like an Orange Crush, Bird Zero or Nukeproof Scout for a chuckable all day trail bike. But all the big players- Trek, Specialized, Giant, Cannondale Marin etc. all do perfectly competent bikes (with more conservative geometry) a that price which you're more likely to find discounted.

Its the 2019 model but has the same frame and a more reliable 11 speed set up than the 2020. I prefer the red colour but only Mediums are available. Medium and Large on Bike24 for even cheaper (£850!!!) but could be hassle for returns though I'm guessing Specialized may have a worldwide warranty?
I've dithered over a Chisel for a while as I'd mostly use it for XC but not sure weather to go FS with some trail centre potential.
ETA: They have the discontinued Chisel Expert which has a better fork, 12 speed NX and a dub BB for £1160 on Bike 24

I’ve bought a fe2 bikes and frames from Sunset Cycles ove4 th3 years.
They currently have the Orange Crush Comp for £1199

I currently have an Ibis Ripley and also an Orange Crush that I built from a frame kit that I bought from Sunset.
Two completely different bikes but the Crush can be built up with a 150mm fork and still be a nice and light fun bike.

Have a look at Vitus bikes on chain reaction, get some great spec for the money
Yep, I've had one for a couple of years now and its bang on. Great value, I think I paid about £800 as I had a discount code for mine and its been utterly faultless. The only thing I did was fit a dropper post. Mines a Vitus Sentier. You'd have some money left over for pedals and other nice goodies which is always a bonus!
Chuck a bit more in the pot, make an offer and go pimp...

Last bike you will ever need, and not ridden once since build (with brand new components). I can vouch for that as the bike is mine... Built up over Christmas as I was bored. Now surplus to requirements as I have bought a Canyon Strive CF and am out of the country for the foreseeable.
