Fitting an alloy pump mount ... washers?
Discussion
I bought a lezyne road drive pump (mostly because it's shiny, i can't say i researched the purchase ) and it comes with an alloy frame mount
I am going to fit it underneath the bottle cage to my aluminium frame... Do I need to use a rubber washer between the mount and frame? Feels wrong screwing something metal directly to the frame!
Regards,
James

You need to firstly remove the mount from the pump.
Take it in your right hand and go to an open window.
Throw the mount as far as you can (don't worry, your cyclist arm muscles won't propel it far enough to damage anything)
Take the pump and store it in a jersey pocket. Your bike is a extension of yourself and is for riding. Pockets are for storing stuff.
You may attach a GPS, two bidon cages and a race number to your bike.
NOTHING ELSE SHALL BE MOUNTED ON IT. NO FRAME BAGS, NO PUMPS and NO BELLS OR REFLECTORS
Then go do a 300W 4 hour tempo ride (on the turbo 'cause of the Covids)
Them's the rules.

Unless Enduro...in which it is not allowed to carry anything on one's person. Your bike should be adorned with more straps and Velcro than the patrons of torture garden. Every hole and orifice should be plugged with a handy little tool...see above simile. Take it in your right hand and go to an open window.

All fine, right up until you fall off, and land on the pump. Them's the rules.
OP, if you are worried about corrosion, then a couple of 5mm fibre washers will protect the finish.
If bolting something directly to the frame was going to be an issue then surely all the bits already screwed/bolted to the frame would have would have a washer or something fitted to them?
I've got alloy bottle cages bolted directly to an alloy frame, no washers (but the frame is painted). Same goes for the front mech etc. etc.

I think you will find a frame mounted Silca pump is acceptable in the rear triangle... Unfortunately I don't have more money than sense.Take it in your right hand and go to an open window.

Fair enough, will just go for it then, being as I can't currently pop to the shop to buy some washers!I've got alloy bottle cages bolted directly to an alloy frame, no washers (but the frame is painted). Same goes for the front mech etc. etc.
