Be careful out there, but not complacent!

That went well.
Out for a cycle today and being a responsible type decided to take it a little steady just to make sure I didn't need the emergency services when they really don't need the work. I was on some single-track carrying a bit less speed than normal so I spotted the bramble hanging out of the left side and took my hand off to avoid it.
And promptly hit a bump, lost it and toppled into the gorse on the other side. Thankfully gorse is forgiving, if a bit prickly, so I only have a fine, uncomfortable rash over most of my right side.
Cool starry bra I know, but don't get cocky folks!

Just been talking to my Dad, I said that I'm still planning on going out on my bike. He's rightly pointed out that in the very unlikely event of me coming off, it makes what's already a complicated homelife into something even harder if I'm out of action.
The turbo is going to get a hammering though, still get most of the same mental stimulus that being outdoors does, should also help keep what level of fitness I do have.
Like you say, be careful.
