Apologies if covered before, tried a search but didn't find anything

I know there have been loads of threads on here about chain lube; but has anyone any experience of using the paraffin wax + PTFE method as described in this video?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHr9znwpwmQ

The attraction for me is that it appears to be very easy to clean/re-wax and stays clean, picking up less road muck.

I have seen a GCN Tech video on waxing a chain that way. Looks interesting...

I curerntly use 'Squirt' wax lube winter and summer - it takes the faff (and time) out drivetrain maintenance. I simply apply more 'Squirt' after every 60km-100km. If the chain looks dirty I run it through a rag to clean it up. I previously tried 'White Lightning' wax lube but found it too thin and difficullt to apply.

Tried the OZ cycle paraffin wax but without PTFE, great clean chain and cassette but no matter what i tried it lasted about 15 miles before the horrid dry squeak appeared.
Tried pulling the chain out of the wax whilst still melted, just starting to set and almost solid. Also let the chain warm through first still no joy.
If someone can tell me what i'm missing i'd happily try again because it's just so clean and i'd love it to work but it doesn't for me.

Years ago, my father taught me to wash parts in paraffin, but he told me to always add a little oil, as paraffin would hold water.

So when I first saw the GCN film about using just wax, I dismissed it as the lubrication properties of pure paraffin are somewhat lacking.

The difference with the Oz cycling is the addition of the PTFE powder in suspension in the liquid wax. This appears from their tests in the video to get properly distributed though the chain, and it's the ptfe that provides the lubrication and wear resistance.

They conduct wear tests against the MSW wax, and their results look quite convincing.

From the video, the chain needs a bit of work after waxing to make it usable as the wax sets solid.

I've ordered the stuff, and now looking for a suitable crock pot to melt it in. The House Manageress will be pissed off if I use the one from the kitchen.

I do my chains with wax but i use a combo of MWS and PTFE powder from ebay. i do all my chains at once plus a load of spares so i can just switch them out.

ultrasonic clean to get all the st off
oven for a bit to dry low heat
pop into pot of wax
hang up to try
move the links
put into a pot of PTFE powder
shake all that st off after leaving a light layer
bingo

lasts about 250km, but feels RAPID

Well, I was hoping to report how wonderful it is, but...

I ordered the PTFE powder from Amazon, and by sea from China takes a loong time. 1 month now, still waiting.

Yes but - from the Oz Cycling link, using the finest powder, I would hope that more PTFE is carried to the inside of the rollers using powder suspended in molten wax, than by dusting the exterior of the chain.

I think this will depend on proper dispersion of the powder and the amount of particles small enough to be carried in the wax into the surfaces of the pins.

Although I have ordered "1.6 micron" I notice that the actual product blurb says the average particle size is 3 micron. So the stuff I'm waiting for is lessfine than I wanted and is taking ages to get here! I'm thinking of putting it the blender first, but that will probably distress my wife more than the powder!

if you use this st it has the PTFE in it already:

https://moltenspeedwax.com/

then get a take away box and fill it full of PTFE, place cold waxed chain in it and shake, then brush off the excess.

it looks baller and is very fast.
