Prudential Ride London 2020 - Ballot results out

I think Prudential's sponsorship ends 2021 and they're looking for another to replace.
Ride London has got the green light for another 10 years from TFL, they are going to need a new sponsor as of next year, and the route will probably be forced to change, once out of London, but it should survive.I’m in on the club 200 entry this year ( pay 250 quid, get pre and post ride hospitality, priority kit bag drop and pick up, dedicated sign on ) and you get to pick your start time ( unless they’ve already been filled, the earliest ones have already all gone). It also saves worrying about the ballot.

I only entered the ballot as I was fed up at getting rejected for the London marathon time after time. I didn’t really consider when ride London was or the logistics in doing it when entering the ballot so it might not even be possible for us to do it due to work and having a new baby.
Need to weigh it up properly tomorrow.

Rejected for 4th time.
Did it last year on a team entry but annoyingly got a poor wave so I spent Stratford to Hampton Court picking through the hordes before it started to clear up. Would have liked to be in the first few groups or at least have some decent groups to work with. Ended up finishing 20 mins or so slower compared with front group.
I'm not sure I'd bother again if I did get a place. It was a lot of logistical faff and I barely managed to sleep the night before. Enjoyable experience during the event but I'm not raring to take part again. A ballot place may have potentially swayed me.

I presume if you dont get in the front wave you can just start in it anyway?
The front 3 or 4 waves are already full up, club riders, club 200 people and ‘celeb riders’ . You could try to start in those waves anyway, people do try it every year. However, you should have a number on your lid, and on the bike, and if there is no number, or the number is the same as someone else’s, expect it to be brought to the attention of the officials, if they don’t spot it themselves, and be sent to your actual start pen.Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
