I'm a 'returned to the fold' cyclist, and I have had periods when I really didn't ride a bike. I bought these from a cycle shop in Billingshurst. They were really comfortable and warm. Full leather palms, insulated backs and knitted cuffs. As well as cycling, they've been used for sledging and snowball fights (Brilliant at that!)

Then I gave up cycling for a few years. In the last few years; I've returned to cycling, but I'm a cold weather wimp and I've got a turbo trainer in the garage, so they haven't really had a lot of use these last few years.

But I was sorry that in the last wash, the inside lining has broken and the foam lining has torn up. So it's time for the bin. My wife asked me how long I'd had them. 30 years!

Good shout - I've got 520 SPDs from 2008 and 2010 still going. Crashed and bashed through all manor of crap in the Peaks, Wales & Lakes but still going despite never servicing them.
