Can anyone recommend any companies to look at for insurance or ones to avoid. I've found a couple of places online but companies ive never heard of!

Looking for one's that cover theft and provide some kind of third party cover just in case.

Thanks smile.

If you have household contents insurance, you may have cover already.

Not all policies are the same - you need to check your own.

My contents policy has a section for items kept in sheds and outbuildings and the bikes not in use are covered for theft under this section.
It also has a section for items outside the home, the bikes are covered under this section up to a certain item limit (which can be changed by specifying high value items) There are conditions regarding locks.
I also have a public liability cover section which covers cycling (except as a professional racer)

Some household insurance companies will not cover bikes over a certain value. when I bought a new bike last year my household insurance would not cover it - I ended up going ith Bikmo which costs me about £330 a year - more than insuring either of my cars yikes

On the plus side when I renewed my household insurance I moved my other named bikes (about £4k worth) to Bikmo and my household insurance was reduced by about £200 so the net cost of insuring my bikes is £130 - this covers £9k woth of bikes at home and £5k of bikes away from the home/in use.
