Specifically wanting to go check out some of the local trails around Peaslake wheres best to park? I've seen videos of the car park along Walking Bottom and it looks rammed to the point where people cant actually get out, is that normal?

Usually an early riser if that helps, currently out at 8am as thats when the daylight begins this time of year. Just dont want to return to my car to find I have to wait another 4 hours to get out

Give it a few months until the New Year's resolutions start to drop off...

Unfortunately the National Trust have undertaken a fair bit of marketing recently, aimed at urbanites to 'get out and explore the countryside'. Everywhere with a car park is increasingly rammed.

Hmm. I don't normally find the car parks that busy. Perhaps there was an event on.

Google Maps shows a few car parks. Depends where you want to go, of course. I always find Friday Street to be not too full.

There's loads of parking, all free - there's 3 close to peaslake and yes walking bottom car park can be full on a summer Sunday, most of the time you'll be fine.

Thanks all

No idea if this video was a special event, dont think it was.

Will try my luck just a bit alarmed at the way people were parking and blocking people in which is a s trick.

I parked on the road near the village shop a few weeks ago, wasn't too busy at all around there and plenty of space in the village carpark

I normally go to the one next to the YHA on Holmbury as it is a gentle ride to the top and then drop down into village via Barrys and then up onto Pitch Hill.
