Wow! And the chaps at Berk (a Slovenian carbon fibre specialist) say they could make it lighter still?

https://www.bikeradar.com/news/lightweight-berk-ro...

They further claim that the reason they haven't saved more weight on the bike is to keep it suitable for practical, reliable, everyday riding...

...and because those extra grams saved would make it "too expensive" and narrow down their market.

It's a nice looking machine, but in that trim definitely not one for me. Even in the unlikely event of a Euromillions lottery win, I'd want an adjustable saddle with some padding, and bar tape at the very least. Reading through the article though, and it looks like a very interesting project in terms of developing light weight bikes and components. I don't need super light, nor do I need aero, not for the riding that I do, but it's good that there are folk out there in the bike industry who are still pushing the boundaries with technology that in a few years may well trickle its way down into the bikes that we see for sale in the windows of our local bike shops.

I couldn't see a price listed for the complete bike, neither. So I'm guessing that "if Sir has to ask, Sir probably can't afford one..." wink

Imagine if the UCI lifted the 6.8kg weight limit machines like this would be common. Incredible thing.
