Winter trainer?
Discussion
I've been running around on a Specialized Allez for the last few years, but really ramped up the miles cycling after retiring from other sports. This is my first winter where i've managed 200-250km per week as a norm.
I've been caught out by the amount of maintenance required, and had a freewheel hub bearing fail today 50km from home. Which was super handy.
What are you maintenance regimes? Do you have a specific winter trainer bike? Are there specific components that are harder wearing without being heavy as hell? I was planning on getting a direct drive turbo in the next couple of weeks, but that was more likely to supplement my existing mileage...

I commute on mine. I clean it every few weeks, maybe a bit more often if there is salt on the roads.
Mudguards and bigger tyres make a big difference. Its mostly 105 with hydraulic brakes and a Quarq crank.
I've broken a couple of spokes, replaced both brake calipers as the seals went, and worn out a cassette and 4 chains in 4 years. The paint has bubbled in a few places but its held up pretty well.
As its so comfortable (and it has a power meter on it) I've been using it in the summer as well, with the mudguards off and carbon wheels on.
