I have the mavic cosmic pro carbon ust wheelset. Currently on Yksion Pro UST 28 mm and an accompanying mavic inner tube. Puncture this morning finally forces consideration for change on the tyres and inner tube.

Any recommendations on tubes and tyres? and sizing? Other than the Ykvision's. Considering dropping to 25mm, lowest is 23mm up to 32mm on the mavic's.

I do not want to run tubeless or tubs.

Can’t go too far wrong with Continental GP5000s if you don’t fancy the Mavic tyres again.

I am drawn to the GP5000's based on experience of the 4000's- and was hoping for this recommendation.

I just don't have confidence in the Mavic's.. but i might be running at too high a pressure.

I’ve been using Vittoria Controls the last couple of years. Seem a really good all condition tyre

I was running the mavics most the year during racing and training and they seemed okay to me. Was pretty confident in their ability. They were run tubeless 80-90psi.

I think I’ll be switching out specialized tyres for the GP5000 on the other bike though. Having previously run GP4000, which actually still go on my winter wheels and read some reviews on the GP5000 they seem a safe bet.

I have GP5000 and got 2 punctures in a few hours riding on a airfield.

If puncture resistance is a top priority then maybe they're not the best? Just my anecdotal evidence.

I cheaped out and went for Continental Ultrasports for about a 1/3rd of the price.

I really can't tell any difference.

Cheaped out and ordered some Continental Supersonic Road Long Valve Inner Tube. Will stick with current tyres and look to change closer to summer.
