OK

Looking at moving to ROI soon

And want to take my Giant ToughRoad with me

Worried about protecting the rear frame triangle and forks when the wheels are not in the frame while in a bike bag

Its a Quick release frame, not thru-axle

I was thinking a cheap pair of hubs with Quick release would protect the frame from being knocked out of alignment?

A LBS should be able to give you a couple of plastic fork spacers for free, as used for transporting many new bikes, so long as you give them the correct spacing. I find it's best to use a length of insulating tape to secure them to the ends of the forks.

Alternatively drop in to your LBS and see if they have some of those plastic drop out/fork protectors left over from a new bike box. They’ll be free. They come with just about every brand new bike.

A length of All-Thread, with nuts on inside of frame and also outside, lightly done up.

When taking my bike to the alps I just put a bit of 2x1 of the right length between the frame and forks (removed to fit it in the bag) and tape them in place.

Asking a bike shop if they have some transit spacers from new bikes is another good shout if thats a thing. Seems overkill to buy anything.
