Bit of a novice here but I currently have a 26inch wheel Cannondale 4 years old 27 geared bike which has served me well but wanting an upgrade .

Mate of mine has a trial 1 27.5 wheel large frame and it fits me better

Can find a used trial 1 so now thinking about the trail 2 2019 bike .

My riding is road and some off road terrain.

Kinda wanna stick with Cannondale and his bike
Fits me perfectly I’ve now discovered.

So how will the trial 2 compare is my question ?

Typically the only difference will be the level of equipment on the the bike.
If you were buying a different size frame that may make a difference but you’re not.
It comes down to comparing specs and weighing up if the price is worth paying.

Ok tks for the reply.

Can i just keep my current Cannondale that's on 26" Wheels and change them for 29's or 27.5.s?

Prob a daft question so apologies in advance

No you can’t swap the wheels.
Just a note but I just bought a 2020 Trek Roscoe 7 from Trek Wilmslow for £850,£100 under rrp.
Discounts are available even on current models.

Great tks for Info.

Bike use is mainly flat surface with occasional off road but really not that much.

Just wondering of the new gearing isnt ideal for that type of riding ?

I have gone from a triple to a one by. It depends if you want big differences in the ratios.

Ive been offered a 2020 Model Trail 2 used once at £750.

Not ridden too many bikes but i'm thinking i'd likely spend most the time in around 4 gears so providing it has one very tall and one very short gear for gradients then i should be all good?

It has the same Eagle sx groupset that my Trek has.The only fault I have with it is on a flat fire road or quick trail it is a bit under geared. For climbing it has enough low gears.
