Depends on the life it's had. I've had one die on me after a couple of years of audax and racing (no commuting). I'm still a fan and bought another pair that are going strong. Three years of commuting is probably the lifespan I'd expect for a £30 light.

On the subject of these I got two (one as a spare) of the Aldi version of the Moon Nebula (it appears to be identical but cost 3p). My reason being (apart from the crazy cost) that they've a 3 year warranty - almost all the riding I do is off-road and it's muddy. Really muddy. No way any light is lasting 3 years with me, so effectively it's a free light.

I've got some of the aldi ones, they have mostly stopped working. Unfortunately I didn't keep any receipts so not able to take advantage of the generous warranty. Bought an exposure tracer today which I'm fairly confident will be a lot more reliable

I have some £3 Phaart Bleep rear lights from Planet X, I bought four as basically disposable lights about six years ago, and in that time I have managed to break one mounting clip. They are bright and the batteries last ages. I can see no reason to replace them with anything more costly, so I recommend getting two of them, then you have a spare if the worst happens.

Three years sounds like good going.

I’ve had two fail on me, one by Moon the other the Bikemate Aldi clone. Both in under a year.

Strangely, the comet clone I’ve ran for probably three years without issue.

Wouldn’t have said anything but as it’s a safety issue it would be wrong not to.

The switch design is not great and are prone to turning themselves off mid ride. Good light but make sure you use a backup. Makes a good daytime light too. The blaze looks a lot more robust.

I've had one fail after just over a year - just outside the warranty. Moon didn't fancy helping frown

I suspect it got water ingress as it was being very temperamental. Sometimes it would turn on and switch through modes; other times nothing.
