Loads of clearance for wide tyres and mudguards for the commute I see.

I like a bit of innovation and love the fact people make something a bit different.

However, my initial impression is this doesn’t look very nice.

Well its never going to be ridden by anyone else, or anywhere else than GB team, on a track, designed to be as aero as possible. Looks some way down the order of interest...

I love the innovation that is going on here, and the way that they're working within new rules to solve problems.

It's awesome!

Yeah I appreciate function over form. Technically it is interesting, but I still don’t think the result is a good looking bike.

I listened to an episode ofthe Downtime podcast a while ago that was a long interview with one of the founders of Hope. His long term ambition was to build a new factory building in Yorkshire with a velodrome above it and run it as a community facility and make a real effort to get kids involved with the sport. So to see them doing stuff like this with British Cycling is actually pretty exciting.

Like the Fiat factory (I think), used in The Italian Job? That would be fking ace!

Hope were at a show I was at last week and they had the rear stays in the mount on display. They were rightly proud of it!

I think it looks magnificent.

Given that one of the rules for Olympic (and UCI?) track bikes is that all equipment must be available to buy - I'd be extremely surprised if they don't sell at least a few of these to collectors or racers who have the pockets.

I think I read that the 3D printed titanium lugs were made by Renishaw engineering.... who also made the steering wheel for Blodhound.

It will be all but impossible.

Like half of Brad Wiggins hour record bike, good luck trying to buy some of the kit on that, regardless of how much money you have.

You could buy the 2012 UKSI bikes used by Team GB, they were on the UKSI website albeit something like £15k for the frame. Why anyone would want one of those, or any other Team GB bike is beyond me though.

For sale from January on the hope site, as with all bikes this Olympic rotation, they actually have to be sold and not a token gesture. 15k for the bike, 4k for the frame only (not including fork). German bike is already for sale I believe. The updated hour record bike now used by Italy is also for sale.
