Cycling Extremedura

Wasn't sure whether to post in Holidays section or in here but let's try here.
A few of us are considering a cycling holiday in Extremedura.
Plan will be a point to point 7 nights - different town each night.
We are thinking take our own bikes rather than hire - fly to Madrid probably.
Some of the logistics are still to be resolved. (eg transfers to starting point and back from end point)
I know that packages are available but the premium on using these amounts to around twice the price we expect to pay direct to hotels.
Has anyone ever done something like this in Extremedura and have any tips to share.
