Rim Brake Calipers for Enve 5.6 SES Rims - 29mm Wide
Discussion
Morning.
I'm in the process of ordering some new wheels.
Looking at, and having tried to put some wider tyred (not rimmed) wheels in, i get the feeling my calipers (SRAM No name from 2010) are going to be too small.
5.6 front is 29mm wide, rear 28mm.
Anyone now what SRAM calipers will definitely have enough room?
I'm thinking Force 22, but if anyone knows for sure..
TIA!

I have an Enve 29mm wide front rim (54mm depth like yours) and I run SRAM Red calipers from the mechanical 20 speed age in around 2014. Pretty sure the calipers haven't changed much since.
They brake fantastically, found I had to dial in some 'toe-in' on the pads though as the textured braking surface has a tenancy to squeal a bit, but perfect now.
ETA: I tend to run my brakes with a fair amount 'pull' before the pads contact the rim, so maybe this is why I've never had issues, as once the calipers are opened up they are probably plenty wide enough for any rim/tyre combo

Thank you!
Exactly the kind of info i was after.
I'll have a look and maybe order Red or Force then, and keep ready in case the expected issues arise once the wheels arrive. If not they can go back. Pretty sure i have 10% off at Wiggle this week...
I had read about the toe-in being needed.
Great news to the braking performance, it's the one thing i was worried about - the Exalith braking on my Mavics is great. But having looked online i'm seeing some comments saying the new Enve brake track is similar in terms of performance.

Johnny, the braking surface is very very good for a carbon rim. The reason I have a brand new front rim from Enve is because they have just warranty replaced my old Enve 60mm rim after 4.5 years due to de-lamination. The old rim had the non-textured surface and was still good, but this is night and day better and gives a reassuring sound (similar to the exalith).
So safe to say their warranty is second to none even after almost 5 years.
