So I've just bought a road bike, nothing apecial.

I purchased a 2XL jacket and it's furkin tiny!

For the rounder rider on here, who do you buy from?

I know I know... lose weight and it'll fit... That's the reason behind the bike!

Your initial weight loss might be quite rapid, so might be worth buying relatively cheap stuff to begin with? Decent shorts at least are worth the ££ though.

I've got myself some nice padded funkier bib shorts. Transformed my ride comfort.

Rapha do a "shrinkage" return and replace service.

Howe)ver, depending on your finances, Planet X often have all sorts of random, weird sized stuff. (I'm very tall, so have got some great XXXL bargains from them.)

Perhaps start here:

you just have to look at all the size charts! so much variation. i've got an agu jersey in a L that fits fine, and a morvelo xxl that's like another layer of skin.

you'll lose weight fast - pick up 2nd hand stuff off ebay, use it for 6 months then shift it on when it's too big for you.

Some of the sizing for bike clothing is insane!

I recently went shopping for MTB knee pads for my (admittedly fairly chunky) 13yr old son. Found some nice ones from Nukeproof, measured him for fit... That'll be an Adult XXL, the largest size they do!!! yikes

I got them for him, and my wife tried them on. They fit her perfectly, and she's a size 10. Nukeproof Adult 2XL= Female size 10. Nuts!!!

I tend to find that for the more sensibly proportioned (ie, not an anorexic Italian) rider, Funkier as already mentioned are a good bet, as are Pearl Izumi and DHB.

Fattie here too.

I have Boardman bib shorts from Cycle Republic - for 20% of the RRP in the sale they fit well and are reasonable comfy for a chunk ass like mine! They are a xxl mind lol
