Anyone else feel like their season goes backwards around now? I try to build up the miles and fitness since the Winter but when every-time I go out at the moment I seem to hoover up half the UK pollen quota in one go and it is not exactly motivating..!!

I have no energy, itchy eyes, runny nose!! Could take a Benadryl but then I want to go to sleep not out on my bike,

Bl@@dy annoying..!!

Yep exactly the same here. The fatigue is what gets me more than the runny nose and itchy eyes - its like I lose my "zing" and don't get it back until Aug/Sep time.

I don’t have a ‘season’ as I’m not a pro. I did used to get hay fever a bit though. When I did, it screwed my breathing up , so I was compromised by that. it seemed to go away when I was in my twenties though, and hasn’t come back, and I’m 45 now, so hopefully it won’t come back. I found that antihistamine tablets, were favourable to things like nasal sprays and eye drops, as those had more of a detrimental effect when I was trying to ride.

Luckily mines settling down now, the early season with tree pollen causes no end of issues, I really shouldn’t live on the edge of a forest!

I’ve been on loratadine, cetirizine and beconase for past few months, full wrap sunglasses help too.

I've yet to suffer this year at all. Haven't taken a single Cetrizine tablet yet.

The only difference from previous years is that I'm very much on a keto/LCHF diet.

I do wonder if that has any relation due to the fact that one of the benefits of LCHF is that it supposedly helps reduce inflammation, and one of the aspects of hay fever is inflammation due to allergic reaction.

Since making this purely anecdotal link myself, it seems that, from searching various other sites and forums, that others on an LCHF diet have also experienced the same.
