Anyone have any recommendation for clear MTB frame protection?

Is this as good as any?

I've used some of that stuff, it's pretty good for general protection but it's hard to cut it to fit to specific areas.

The ultimate is a full invisiframe protection kit.

Like TallPaul says, Invisiframe would be hard to beat for quality. My bike was done from new.
Cost £100 fitted but each kit is custom shaped to suit. You need to look very closely to see it.
Hence the name.
It might be worth contacting a local vinyl wrap specialist and enquire about a clear wrap.
Alternatively buy some 3M "helicopter tape" as already suggested and get busy with your scissors.

Invisiwrap is good and fits well in my experience. It's easy enough to do a good job at home rather than paying someone else to do it.

I've just heli-taped key areas on my Orange. I worked on the basis that it wasn't my first choice of colour, so will send it back to the factory for a respray at some point. After two years it is still mostly looking good though.

If it isn't too far away worth visiting Nick at Shackwrap. Custom protection film and uses top quality self healing film

Like others have said, a well fitted invisiframe kit is the best thing on the market, but if you are after something a bit cheaper then there are several companies selling protective tape, usually called heli-tape or 3M tape etc. All the same stuff really.

As a veteran of many invisiframe fittings I can thoroughly recommend getting someone else to do it for you. The chap who said its easy to do at home must have been lucky / has a very simple frame / is just gifted for this sort of thing. For normal folk it's at best a bit of a faff, but more likely is a right flipping pain in the bloody arris.
