Annoyingly managed to break one of the retaining clips/rivets/fasteners for the retention band on my helmet.

Searched all I can on the internets, including the usual cycle bits suppliers, but can’t find one anywhere. I’ve tried all permeatations of the term clip, but cannot seem to pin down the exact name for what I’m after.

Can anyone help please? The best I can come up with is a push in fastener or rivet. Dimensions wise, the length is about 8mm, the head of the mushroom push in circular end cap is also 8mm, and the retaining head about 4mm across at its thickest.

Looks like this.....

Goes in here....

That looks very similar to a car plastic body trim clip.

Google “helmet rear retention system” you may find something suitable. Or get in touch with the customer services people for whoever manufactured your lid, tell them you need a new retention band, they might be able to help.

Google Richco plastic fasteners, or maybe www.nyfast.com, or search for push rivet, snap rivet, fir tree clip, arrow clip or speed screw.

Trouble is, unless you can get in touch with the original manufacturer of the helmet, you could end up having to buy 500 of the things.

Personally speaking, I value my head a bit more than that.

Feel free to pay more, but it meets exactly the same standards as my Kaask.
