Off out to playa blanca next week for 10 days and fancy getting a couple of rides in whilst out with the family (road bike), I'm going to take shoes bit of kit and my wahoo and rent the rest. Anyone done it any advice or even better gpx files looking to do say 40 ish miles each ride. Not adverse to mountain biking either.

Cheers

I’ve ridden with Papagayo bike a couple of times on mtb tours, very good! They also do road bike tours or you can just rent bikes.

Their mountain bikes were pretty decent spec.

Have you been to Lanzarote before?

It's ideal cycling country, but can get a bit windy sometimes.

Go up into Timinfaya.

We're going back for 7 nights on Wednesday...

We've been several times and I normally drive around and around and around...

The volvano is okay, nothing amazing.

The beaches are very similar, again don't go out of your way.

The whole place is very relaxed and easy going, my advice would be to take it easy!!

Go for a walk along the front at Playa Blanca from the marina and back.

The Hiperdino is the place to shop, not sure if you're self catering we normally do: https://www.hiperdino.es/c9494/

It's great, just don't tramp around is my advice!!

The climb up Tabayesco is worth it. Downhill all the way back too

Just got back from a week training camp. Been every year last 3 years.

PM if you want some GPX although they all start and leave from Macher which is about 15k from Blanca.

Tabeysco and Mirrador are the main climbs. Do both if you up to it at the same time. Note the normal route up Tabeysco is closed to cyclists at the min. This is the one from the sea through Tabeysco village. The switch backs are open so you can go up from Haria, down the back route and stop at Johnnie Bakes in Tieguse. I have a GPX starting in Tieguse. Up the back route to Tab, down to Haria, up Mirrador then back again. Chocolate volcanoe cake in Johnnie Bakes, then home.

Mirrador has great views. Although lower than Tabeysco I think it's a slightly harder climb. fking windy though.

These are a little distance from Planca do depending on how far you want to go you might consider driving part the way.

Fire mountain and the route through Timanfya is great too.

The El Golfo loop is nice for sea views. Not too hard and close to Playa Blanca.

When you head back to Playa Blanca use the service road next to the LZ2. It's very quiet, flat and the wind is behind you. Can absolutely thank it down there. Bit of a drag on the way out.

Oh and PS. If you need a slash, dont do it in Timanfya NP. 50 EUR fine if you get caught.
