I was busily giving one of my bikes a strip down service yesterday. It was all going swimmingly. Right up until I had it completely recabled, re chained, re BB’d, re cassetted, and the bars re wrapped. I pulled the rear brake, and it went very loose. Closer inspection showed that I’d mis calculated for the bit of rear brake outer, that goes into the barrel adjuster ( about an inch ). This bike is a bit of a nightmare re: the rear brake, as it’s direct mount, but on the chainstays, and the barrel adjuster is on the cable at the bar end, and it’s internally routed, with several odd grommets that fit in the frame at various points. fk my luck. Looks like I know what’s next for me then laugh.
