Pirelli Cinturato Tubeless went POP..!!
Discussion
Scared the beejesus out of me.
Pumped them up this morning, bit higher than normal at 100 psi (max is 116) and got 1/2 mile down the road, slowing for a junction and kerboom! Luckily only going around 5kph as later on there is a 60kph decent and God only knows what state I would be in if it had let go there.
Has trashed my Hollowgram rim due to skidding to a stop on it, so that needs replacing as well as the tyre.
Anyone had similar? Baffled as to the cause, they go to much higher pressures when fitting so that they 'pop' and seat on the rim properly.
Pi@@ed Off..!!

I believe that tubeless tyres are inflated quickly as opposed to high pressure when first installing them? Pumped them up this morning, (max is 116)...

If it says 116psi max, then both the design of the tyre and the manufacturer can't be blamed for failure in operation if this value was exceeded.

But 100 psi is less than the maximum of 116 psi .If it says 116psi max, then both the design of the tyre and the manufacturer can't be blamed for failure in operation if this value was exceeded.
The industry has only just created a standard for sizing for tubeless tyres/rims, so it can be a bit of a lottery with the existing products that are out there (too tight or too loose).
I guess your tyre doesn't fit your rim that well, and the extra stress of riding on it caused it to pop off.

I've ridden over 5k miles on my local lanes all on Conti 4seasons and GP4000s. Had probably 10 slow punctures.
Had bike serviced last month and needed new tyres so told the local indy to go ahead and fit the Pirelli PZeros they had just got in (no Contis in stock).
20km into first my ride on same lanes the rear tyre blew out and split open the sidewall.
Binned both tyres and got some GP5000s.
ETA clinchers at 90psi
